Advanced search
The LMS currently allows admins to filter the users displayed on the Users page, using a single search string, which is matched against all profile properties defined on the LMS. The search can then be further refined, based on the users group and OU membership, and/or their defined roles. Unfortunately, this can be limiting, as it may not be possible to identify the required users, where for example, the same profile value is used across multiple users and different profile fields.
To remove this limitation, the LMS has been enhanced with a new Advanced search capability. Advanced search allows admins to use any combination of profile information, including text, date, single-select and multi-select profile data, along with group, organisational unit and role information, to be combined in a single search. This provides a powerful and easy to use interface, which can be used to filter the displayed users to precisely the set required. More information about Advanced search is available in the Explained: Users and How To: Use search articles.
Date formatting
Report CSV files and various exports have been updated to include multiple date formats where previously only a single option was provided. Specifically, dates were provided as either ISO8601 format (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601) such as 2019-06-18T17:08:34Z, or in a simple format, such as 18/06/2019.
The simple format has benefits for human consumers of the information, but risks ambiguity (e.g. 1/2/2010 could be interpreted as 1st February 2010 or 2nd January 2010), the ISO8601 format is often better for automated processing but cannot be used to apply date based filters in Excel.
To provide the best options, report CSV files and various exports (such as user exports) have been enhanced to include both the ISO8601 and simple option in all cases.
