Certification expiry enhancements

The LMS provides a number of ways for you to define the expiry requirements for a certification. Currently, administrators can choose whether a certification:

• never expires.
• expires a fixed period after it was awarded.
• expires on a fixed date.
• is managed externally to the LMS, and does not have an LMS controlled expiry date.

However, in some compliance scenarios, you may require all your learners to expire annually at the same time for a specific certification, so that everyone is certified against the same version of the training or legislation related document. To support this requirement, the LMS has been enhanced to support a new expiry mode: Certificates expire on a fixed day of the year. Selecting this option, allows you to chose a consistent date, that will be used to drive certification expiry on an annual basis.
