New option for reporters to see all content
Historically, the system has restricted the set of catalogue items that a reporter is able to report over based on the groups their reporter role is scoped to. In some scenarios, individuals with the Reporter role require access to all content items contained in the catalogue.
A new option called Reporter content visibility mode is now available on the Settings | Advanced page of the administration site that enables Global administrators to control this behaviour. The two options are:
- Reporters can only report over items targeted to groups their role is over
- Reporters can report over all items
To ensure backwards compatibility, the first option is the default option unless otherwise configured
Event/session report enhancement
The registered interest status is now available in the Event session report. This means that administrators no longer need to view each event to identify users who have registered an interest in future sessions.
Group management enhancement for bulk user import processing
The bulk user import process has been enhanced so that optionally (according to admin configuration), you can choose whether groups are imported via the batch CSV user import. When not imported, group membership is only be updated via user rules or via the administration UI.
This new option is generally applicable when the imported user CSV file includes organisational unit (OU) information but does not include complete group information, perhaps because it isn't available via the source HR system.
The new setting to control this import behaviour can be found in the Users section on the Settings | Advanced page in the administration site.
My learning content promotion
Historically, the system automatically promoted any content that a learner enrolled on into their My Learning area regardless of how the content is targeted to the user. In some scenarios this can lead to unwanted and too many content items appearing within this channel.
A new option has been introduced on the Settings | Advanced page within the administration site to enable an administrator to configure this behaviour. A new checkbox 'Include content in a learner's My learning area when enrolled' is now available. This is checked by default, for backwards compatibility. When unchecked, content that the learner enrols on is no longer promoted to the My learning channel and this is purely controlled by My learning targeting within the administration site.
Enhancement to the learning history export CSV format
The existing learner history export CSV file format includes independent learning activity (ILA) types and session start dates, but this information is merged into single columns. This makes it hard for external systems to process and use the data.
The enhanced CSV format separates this data into separate columns - for easier processing. In addition, a new column containing session end dates has been included.
To ensure backwards compatibility, existing status exports will continue to use the old format. You can switch to the new format by selecting Latest for the STATUS EXPORT VERSION setting in the SCHEDULE EXPORTS area of the Settings | Advanced page within the administration site.
