Catalogue filtering and searching
We have enhanced the filtering and searching features available on the Web learner portal catalogue page, making it easier for users to combine searches and filters while perusing the catalogue.
Three individual filter drop down filter menus are now available with each one displaying the currently applied filter.
Category filter
By applying a category filter, the user can quickly see all content associated with that category. Categories are used to organise and group together related content within the catalogue. Typical categories might include Induction, Health and Safety, Management training and so on.
The category filter displays the complete set of categories available to the user. The user will only see categories corresponding to the content that is targeted to them. For example, an Induction category will only be listed if the user has at least one item of content associated with a category called Induction.
Status filter
By applying a status filter, the user can quickly see all content in a particular state such as their in-progress or completed content.
This filter displays the set of states that their targeted content is in such as Not started, In-progress and Completed.
Type filter
By applying a type filter, the user can quickly see all content of a specified type such as course content, video content, curriculum content and so on.
This filter displays the complete set of content types available to the user. The user will only see types corresponding to the content that is targeted to them. For example, PowerPoint will only be listed if the user has at least one item of PowerPoint content targeted to them.
Combining filters and searches
You can also combine different filters and searches. For example, you could select the Video type filter along with the Induction category filter in order to view all video based induction content. You can also search for content by typing search keywords into the search box and pressing ENTER. Searches work across content titles and descriptions.
Note that searching inside of nested curriculum is not currently supported although this feature is coming soon.
