Civica Learning allows learners to be awarded points, badges or trophies when they complete items on the system. The points are used to populate a leaderboard, that is displayed in the Web Learner portal on the learners Achievements page, and optionally on the portal Home page.
The points / awards associated with items are configured during system implementation. Typically learners are awarded different points for completing different types of items or achieving different scores in assessments.
Learner interface
The Learner interface, showing a typical Leader board and list of awards is shown below:
Optionally, the leaderboard can show the learners at the top of the leaderboard, or the current learner's position on the leaderboard, with the those learners immediately above and below them. With this configuration, the current learner is then always visible on the leader board.
Administration interface
As a Global administrator or User administrator, you can view and edit the points that have been awarded to users. For example, in some scenarios, you may need to allocate points to a learner based on some external activity they've completed.
You can also view the leaderboard for all users on the system. The Leaderboard displays points and awards associated with users, listed in order of most points received.
There are three columns in the main body of the page:
- User. Displays the user's name.
- Points. Displays the number of points the user has.
- Awards. Displays how many points the user has.
To view the Leaderboard, navigate to the Reports section and select Leaderboard from the SECTIONS section. Once you're on the page, you can select users from the Leaderboard and access their user profile, where you can assign points and awards.
